EH&S Specialist
Job Summary
Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of the Product Stewardship management and information systems (including SAP EH&S modules on Product Safety, Dangerous Goods, etc.). Lead the information systems implementation. Consider the business requirements and provide consulting, interpretation and training to end-users. Develop the system to be user friendly and update the system as required.
Essential Functions
- Understand, apply and stay current with regulations related to Hazard Communication (North America, Europe, etc.), including regulations related to chemical substances and MSDS and label authoring. Use tools within the SAP EH&S module. Provide data for various yearly reports which may include SARA, California and NPRI. Develop and maintain MSDS for the non-prime materials and other manually produced MSDS.
- Understand regulations related to the safe transportation of Dangerous Goods. Stay current with existing regulations and potential legal changes. Review and consult on changes to determine relevance to Avient operations. Design and update systems to maintain SAP Dangerous Goods module accuracy. Provide information to Business Groups and plants to elevate awareness. Work with consultants and law firms.
Provide assistance in developing, implementing and maintaining Product Stewardship standards. Assist in developing standards for new product development. Review Product Stewardship procedures for plants and business groups. - Provide consulting, interpretation and training to end-users.
- Assist in evaluating compliance with Product Stewardship standards and applicable laws and regulations. Assist in identifying and maintaining new requirements. Provide information to business units and plants to elevate awareness.
- Work with consultants and law firms.
- Provide expertise and assistance to business groups and plants to help maintain compliance in Product Stewardship.
- Maintain and keep the Product Stewardship systems current. Update system with changes and provide consulting, interpretation and training on system updates.
