Front Desk Specialist
The Receptionist/Front Desk Specialist will serve as the first face of the company and will be responsible for greeting both internal and external guests and clients. As the first point of contact for our company, you will play a vital role in creating a positive and welcoming experience for all visitors at our Global World Headquarters in Avon Lake, Ohio.
This role is essential in delivering exceptional customer experiences by handling a wide variety of inquiries, checking guests in using our visitor management system, directing incoming calls to the appropriate associates, maintaining an organized front desk, and additional office and administrative duties. Your excellent communication skills, positive and welcoming demeanor, and dedication to superior service will be essential to your success.
Essential Functions
• Deliver exceptional customer experiences by attentively listening to customers and understanding their needs across multiple platforms, including in-person, phone, and email, while effectively managing the front desk.
• Present a professional and polite demeanor while managing the front desk, including warmly greeting visitors, processing facility access using the Visitor Management System, managing visitor pre-registration, and maintaining the visitor database.
• Issue security access cards for new hires, temporary workers, and contractors using our access credential program.
• Improve and adhere to established scripts, guidelines, and processes to ensure consistent service delivery.
• Maintain several programs, including employee and contractor safety training databases, and schedule training sessions as required.
• Coordinate meeting rooms and appointments as needed; notify attendees and make necessary arrangements through Microsoft Outlook.
• Provide administrative support, including but not limited to maintaining recordkeeping filing systems for the front desk and other supported departments, filing, scanning, copying, data entry, supply ordering, and correspondence preparation.
• Work autonomously to handle routine tasks and ensure effective communication among team members.
• Develop cross-functional relationships with corporate and business unit stakeholders to deliver highly aligned solutions.
• Share recurring inquiries, concerns, and feedback to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Understand the value of Avient's products and services while participating in ongoing training and professional development to stay updated on products, services, and industry trends.
• Hours are 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
• Other duties and special projects as assigned.
Education and Experience
• Requires high school diploma or GED equivalency; college degree preferred.
• At least 3-5 years’ experience working as a receptionist or similar customer service role is preferred.

• Demonstrates a can-do attitude and seeks to maximize productivity.
• Strong desire for continuous learning and professional development.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills adaptable to various audiences across the organization.
• Familiarity with SAP, S/4HANA, Salesforce, Coupa, Ariba, S2, and/or Visitor Management Systems a plus.
• Flexible work schedule, including availability for early or late shifts as needed.
