Job Summary
As a Business Manager, you will play a pivotal role in driving growth and expanding market share within the building and construction sector. If you have an entrepreneurial mindset, are passionately curious and like building businesses, this role is for you.

Essential Functions

  • Market Analysis and Intelligence:
    • Through in-person visits with industry participants, develop a deep understanding of industry trends, market dynamics, and competitive landscape related to building and construction.
    • Map the value stream from raw materials, through production, sales channels, contractors, finishing at the end customer.
  • Voice of the Customer:
    • Develop a comprehensive analysis of the customer requirements in different markets and regions throughout North America.
  • Build Business:
    • Manage all stages of launching a new product line, including:
    • Manage all aspects of launching a new product lines in building and construction
    • Product positioning and requirement to meet market demands
    • Competitive analysis
    • Product development and R&D
    • Testing and qualification
    • Develop go-to market strategy and sales channels
    • Pricing strategy
    • Manufacturing
    • Sourcing and partnerships with key raw material suppliers
    • Develop marketing materials for sales organization and trade publications
    • Drive lobbying activities with key regulatory agencies
    • Represent Avient with ACMA (Association for Composite Materials) for all activities related to Building and Construction

Education and Experience

  • A Bachelor's or University Degree in Engineering, Business, Marketing or and MBA
  • Knowledge of the building and construction market
  • Experience in managing product development from ideation to launch

Qualifications

  • Must have excellent project management skills
  • Ability to multitask and prioritze responsibilities
  • Must be able to train and mentor others
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Must demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently
  • Ability to use Microsoft Office Products
